  • Open-and-Go Curriculum Including Video Lessons, Step-by-Step Activities, Quizzes, and More
  • In-Depth Curriculum Focused on Teaching the How and Why Behind Behind Electronics and Coding
  • Uses Only Real Electronic Components and Real Code (Python)--No Snap Together Parts or Proprietary Code
  • Equipment Kit Included--No Need to Research and Gather Compatible Parts

Please note, this course is not currently available. Due to an international shortage of Raspberry Pi's, we are unable to offer this course at this time. We are hopeful we can offer this course again sometime during Fall 2021. We recommend the One Semester Electronics and Coding Course as a replacement. That course contains all of the lessons and equipment taught in this course as well as additional electronic and coding skills.

This Basic Electronics and Coding Course is an open-and-go curriculum for high school, middle school, and advanced elementary school classrooms. We strive to provide a low-stress option for instructors teaching technology courses in a classroom or group setting--even when the instructor has no previous experience with electronics or coding. The course includes video lessons, step-by-step activity instructions (complete with very detailed photos), quizzes, and standardized equipment kits.

The course lessons start at the very beginning and systematically teach students to work with common electrical components to build circuits, write code in Python, and use a Raspberry Pi. Along the way they will learn how to read schematics, troubleshoot, and more.

The course includes Level A of the Intro to Robotics program and is generally used as a 5-8 week basic electronics and coding class for high school students, a one semester course for middle school students, or potentially a 1-2 semester course for advanced elementary students.

GENERAL ORDERING INFORMATION

Orders can be placed here on the website but we strongly recommend contacting us for a custom quote prior to submitting a purchase order. We are happy to help you determine the number of student licenses and equipment kits you will need. Purchase orders should include the following three line items:

  • SKU 663 Basic Electronics & Coding Course Instructor Set (includes an online classroom login and one set of component kits for the instructor)
  • SKU 664 Basic Electronics & Coding Course Student License (consumable license, purchase one for each student, includes online classroom access)
  • SKU 665 Basic Electronics and Coding Course Equipment Kit (purchase one set for every 1-4 students)

teacher TESTIMONIALS

“Students have learned so much!
As a STEM teacher at a small Christian school, the Level A Robotics course is just what I have been looking for. It is affordable, easy to set up, and fun to learn alongside the students.”

By Kelly B.

"I looked a long time for affordable robotics curriculum to use in my classroom, so this was a godsend. I'm using in a semester class, though I wish I could teach a year long course, as we will not get to levels C and D. Therefore, the class is more of a computer science class than a robotics class at this point. In the future I hope to either offer a second course or teach this as a year-long course. So far, my students have learned a lot and are enjoying the program. Thank you for a great product!"

By Jennifer T.

"I am loving this curriculum. It is easy to follow and very engaging. My students look forward to class each week!"
